  • Protect and perform within Hurley’s policies and guidelines.  Understanding the futures market operations, controls, policies and procedures. 
  • Build & maintain solid business relationships/partnerships by developing trust and confidence with clients.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans within overall Hurley philosophy for hog clients, taking into consideration their comfort zones in working with various tools
  • Stay current on hog and grain market knowledge and government programs relevant to marketing needs and goals.
  • As an objective third party, assist in defining issues, problems, and opportunities faced by clients. Makes recommendations, as appropriate, for each client. 
  • Network with hog industry, business and community leaders
  • Prospect for new clients while maintaining and growing current client base.
  • Identify and provide for the educational needs of clients, prospects, and advocates including maintaining a presence at hog industry events.

Risk Management Services

  • Complies with all CFTC, FCM and Hurley policies and guidelines
  • Implement and monitor Futures Regulations for compliance
  • Develop and implement marketing plans within overall Hurley philosophy for farm clients, taking into consideration their comfort zones in working with various tools
  • Stay current on market knowledge and government programs relevant to marketing needs and goals
  • As an objective third party, assist in defining client issues, problems, and opportunities faced by clients.  By understanding situations or conditions, Risk Management Consultant makes recommendations, as appropriate, for each client. 
  • Re-evaluate marketing plans throughout the year and make necessary changes
  • Maintain confidential client records and use Hurley proprietary software to project client cash flows and break even analysis

Management

  • Manage processes, policies, production, and client relationships
  • Daily review of client positions, futures and cash
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, Senior Consultants and Hurley corporate staff

Business Development

  • Prospect for new clients while maintaining and growing current client base
  • Present Hurley & Associates portfolio of products and services in a variety of public settings
  • Achieve agreed upon revenue goals. 
  • Provide educational assistance on marketing tools, as needed

Marketing Associate

General Summary of Position:  This position is responsible to provide exceptional customer service and allow our Ag Risk-Marketing Consultant(s) to maximize and efficiently utilize their talents to the overall best interest of their clients and of Hurley & Associates. This position helps with basic marketing tasks, assessment of client financials and data entry, and other tasks as assigned. This position also provides customer service with clients on a regular basis. Effective communication skills, attention to detail, professional image, integrity and confidentiality are required.

Administration

Marketing

Knowledge of Marketing tools to manage risk, such as futures and options. Agricultural experience preferred. Knowledge of agricultural operations, and financial risk tolerance. Ability to interpret farm financials into Hurley cash flow requirements.  Knowledge of business marketing activities to promote Hurley & Associates.

Client Documentation

Prepare reports and/or information in preparation for client meetings. Document updates to brokerage accounts, as necessary. Update and maintain client information in files and software. Relay daily fill information to clients utilizing email. Decipher client provided information and enter farm financials into Hurley software. Track and maintain grain inventory for clients. Update end of year tax projections to clients, if necessary.

Percentages of Work responsibilities

40% Marketing, 30% Administration, 30% Client Documentation

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Degree required.  A 2- or 4-year bachelors’ degree is preferred.  One-year or more of related experience preferred.

Licensing or Certification Requirements

Series 3 license for grain brokers required after hire.  The chosen candidate will be required to sign a standard Associated Person’s Agreement.
