Carl grew up near Lyons, SD being actively involved in his family’s corn and soybean operation from an early age. After high school he graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Agricultural Systems Technology. Recently Carl completed class 6 of BeefSD which focuses on increasing knowledge and skills needed to take beef related businesses to the next level.
Carl has been with Hurley since 2016. Carl’s diverse real-world knowledge of both grain and livestock production gives him a unique skill set to truly understand what each operation is trying to achieve and how to encourage shifting focus to the future. His sole purpose with Hurley is to help create an environment where family farms are able to thrive for generations to come.
Carl and his wife Brooke live with their 4 children near Dell Rapids, SD close to where they both grew up. Carl is heavily involved in the farming operation that raises corn, soybeans and finishes beef cattle. Carl enjoys combining all the moving parts of each individual operation he works with to see the immense benefits of today’s diversification.
