From Our Interns

"One moment that really stood out was on a client visit early in the summer. The client expressed his gratitude for the work that we were doing for him, and I could see just how much he appreciated us taking the burden off his shoulders."

"One thing that I didn’t realize coming into this internship was how personal the relationships are between clients and consultants. Through shadowing consultants, I have noticed that each consultant really cares and wants to get to know their clients."

"I’ve learned how important trust and relationships are in grain marketing. It is more personal than I initially thought, and every farm has a unique story and operation."

"Working with my mentor has been one of the highlights of my internship. Having someone I could consistently turn to with questions or ideas made a big difference. My mentor not only provided valuable guidance but also helped me feel welcomed and supported from day one. That kind of mentorship really enriched my entire experience."

"I wanted to intern at Hurley because I deeply admired what the company stood for. I found it incredibly impactful that Hurley exists to let farmers take off their marketing hats and focus on what they truly love—farming."

"The agriculture industry is much more than what people perceive, it's not just an "industry", it is a group of people united to achieve a common goal: feed the world. I love agriculture and have a huge appreciation for the hard-working individuals in it; this internship just continued to solidify that. I want to ensure that wherever my career takes me I am still helping farmers grow a crop, and ranchers raise their livestock."

"I was looking for an internship to grow my understanding of futures/grain markets. I had heard really great things about the Hurley and Associates internship from past interns! Once I visited with them at the NDSU career fair and learned about how structured and well-rounded the program was, I knew it was the right fit for me!"
