Patrick Schaffer

Hurley & Associates

Consultant

Patrick was raised on a fourth-generation family farm near Millerville, Minnesota that produces corn, soybeans, wheat, hogs, and cattle. His involvement in the farm and 4-H sparked his desire to pursue agriculture as a career. He attended North Dakota State University, graduating with a degree in Agricultural Economics and a minor in Crop & Weed Science. Throughout his time at NDSU, Patrick was an active member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, Ag Ambassadors, and Saddle & Sirloin Club. This involvement solidified his passion for the agriculture industry and serving others.

Patrick started his career in Renville County, Minnesota, in agronomy and moved to ag equipment sales. During this time, he had the pleasure of working with a wide range of operations and management styles, which broadened his knowledge and appreciation for ag producers.

An opportunity to live closer to family and start his own family farm brought Patrick back to the area and to Hurley & Associates. He is drawn to Hurley’s philosophy, values, and business-minded approach to risk management marketing.

Patrick, his wife, and their children live on a farmstead in rural Millerville where they raise corn, soybeans, hay, and chickens. He and his family are active in their church, fire department, and Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion. Patrick enjoys spending time on the lake, camping, and time with his kids.
