Ryan grew up in a military family, moving from state to state until his family eventually settled back in Puerto Rico. It was a chance for him to reconnect with his roots—learning the language, embracing the culture, and spending time with relatives he’d only seen on visits. Some of his favorite memories were spent helping out on his grandfather’s small farm, where he developed an early appreciation for agriculture and the value of hard work.
Ryan earned his degree in general agriculture from the University of Puerto Rico and went on to complete a master’s degree in entomology from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Over the past eight years, he has worked in the seed production industry throughout Southeast Missouri, where he built strong relationships with local growers and gained a deep appreciation for the challenges they face.
That experience inspired a deeper sense of purpose — a desire to support producers in a way that’s both practical and personal. His decision to join Hurley was driven by a shared commitment to service, partnership, and family — values that guide his approach every day.
Outside of work, he enjoys life with his wife, their two lively dogs, and a cat with plenty of personality. He also loves watching classic movies, exploring small towns, and always searching for the best burger around.
