David Hurley is President of Hurley & Associates, Inc., which facilitates the firm’s futures and options business. David has been exposed to the agricultural industry all of his life. He grew up on the Hurley family farm where he developed and learned a love for agriculture along with understanding adversities of farm production.

David attended Murray State University in Kentucky and earned his degree in Agricultural Economics. He was recipient of the Agribusiness student of the year award while also obtaining his Series 3 commodity license during his junior year. Over the summers during his time at Murray, David worked for a large commercial grain firm, which gave him insight into grain handling and merchandising.

David spent time learning at the Chicago Board of Trade where he worked closely with a mentor elevating his interest in futures and options. David has gained 30 years of experience assisting soybean, grain, cotton and livestock producers to protect profits through financial analysis, sound planning, and disciplined marketing. He served as a director on the board of Missouri’s ALOT program which provides advanced leadership experiences for rural leaders and agricultural producers. Participating in the program equipped him with further insights regarding agriculture within Missouri, the United States, and parts of Southeast Asia including China and Taiwan.

David took part in the decision made by Dennis and Ida Hurley, the Founder of the company, to create Hurley & Associates. He was the second marketing consultant for the company, next to Ida Hurley. Together they worked in a small but modest duplex located in Charleston MO. conducting business in much the same way business is still conducted today, over thirty years later. David continues working with clients and consultants directly while overseeing the futures and options activities of Hurley and Associates, Inc. David has a passion for agriculture and specifically educating others regarding various aspects of risk management.

David is married to his wife, Vicki, they have three children Lucas, Gabe, and Victoria; each having their own God given talents. They stay active in church, volunteer and help with numerous school activities and love attending their children’s events.
